Lian Ryan is a London-based artist investigating the silent and spatial relationship between chaos and order through the abstraction and manipulation of the body. Working across painting, installation and animation, Ryan explores themes of limitation, migration and hierarchy to examine the porous boundaries between human, organism and technology.

Survival Instincts, 2026, is Ryan's latest body of work, exploring the fragmentation and fluidity of identity and humanity's parasitic relationship to the planet, the self and the 'other'. Ryan has exhibited across Edinburgh, London, Berlin, Reykjavík and Barcelona and is currently doing an MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art in London.
